Imagine being a little boy or girl, growing up during the early days of television. Most T.V. sets were smaller than 17" diagonal. And, even during the mid-1960's, few were in color. Remote controls were still considered a luxury.
Most importantly, programs were designated for an exact day & time. You couldn't simply watch a show whenever desired. It only played for a passing moment.

But, the VCR suddenly gave the freedom to view according to our convenience. It truly was a major step forward in entertainment. This page is dedicated to nostalgic Disney VHS. Typically, the boxes were splendidly animated. It was similar to a music LP. Prior to the Compact Disk, Vinyl Records were popular for nearly a century. And, although CD's deliver better quality & convenience, the larger LP's often delivered a brilliant cover design. This feature was often widely anticipated. The same holds true for VHS cassettes. The Art designs were even more interesting than DVD packages. So, although VHS has become obsolete, the nostalgia is still worth checking into.

Be thankful for today's generous DVD's. Notice how many VHS cassettes were rather skimpy. Often delivering 30 minutes of film, or less. Back then, many tapes were only given three cartoons. åΘφ
